Food and Wine Festival

Good food and wine is a central part of experiencing Cape May, the “restaurant capital of New Jersey” and home to many different vineyards that thrive in its climate.  A sampling from the many fine options our town offers can make a stay at the Southern Mansion really special!

If you happen to be planning a stay for September, be sure to look out for the Food & Wine Festival, presented by the Mid-Atlantic Center of Arts & Humanities.  Over these five days in September (15-19) you’ll get straight to the best savory treasures our town offers in a variety of different lectures, dinners, tastings and tours.

For example, you can cover lunch for the day—and be sure of enjoying it—by stopping at one of the Festival’s Gourmet Lunches, a three-course meal presented at a different restaurant’s menu each day.  For dinner you might try four courses at the Aleathea’s Restaurant and enjoy pairings of single malt scotch to go with it.

Of course, there are also several specifically wine-related events: you can visit two different local vineyards on a self-guided tour, or learn more about the art of food and wine pairings at a dinner chosen for the purpose.

It all takes place from the 15th to the 19th—check your calendar, find a schedule and see how the NJ Food and Wine Festival can enhance your stay at our Cape May B&B!
